Learning through Drama : English Dramatization Competition (Grade 1 to Grade 5 ) 1st July 2026

The English Dramatization was conducted for students of Grades 1 to 5 with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was divided into two groups, each presenting a meaningful message through their performances.

Grades 1 & 2:

The young performers beautifully highlighted the importance of using modern gadgets wisely. Through their lively acts, they encouraged children to use technology responsibly and maintain a healthy balance between screen time, studies, outdoor play, and family time.

Grades 3 to 5:

The students creatively adapted the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood to convey the important message that not all smiling strangers are your friends. Their performance emphasized the need to be cautious around strangers, make safe choices, and always seek help from trusted adults when faced with unfamiliar situations.

The event was a wonderful showcase of the students’ confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills. It was an engaging learning experience that left the audience with valuable life lessons.

Aquatic Animal Stick Puppets (30th June 2026)

Students of Prep participated in a hands-on craft session where they made stick puppets of fishes, jellyfish, and starfish. Children coloured pre-drawn pictures or used cut-outs, then pasted them onto ice-cream sticks to create movable puppets.

Learning Outcomes:

Identification of aquatic animals

Development of fine motor skills through colouring & pasting Boosted creativity and imagination

Encouraged storytelling and role play

The activity was well-received and each child proudly took their puppet home.

Science Quiz Competition 2026 – Inspiring Young Scientific Minds (29th June 2026)

The Science Quiz Competition for students of Grades 1 to 5 was conducted with great enthusiasm to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science among our young learners.

The competition began with a selection round held in each class, where students showcased their scientific knowledge and problem-solving abilities. The shortlisted finalists then competed in the grand finale on 28th June 2026.

The finalists were divided into four dynamic teams—Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Hydrogen. The quiz consisted of five exciting rounds, with questions thoughtfully designed according to the age and learning level of the students. Covering a wide range of science topics, each round challenged the participants’ knowledge, observation skills, and quick thinking while making learning fun and engaging.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, healthy competition, and excellent teamwork as students confidently answered questions and supported their teammates throughout the quiz.

The winning team was honoured with Winner Certificates, while all other finalists received Participation Certificates in recognition of their commendable effort and enthusiasm. The Science Quiz Competition was a memorable learning experience that encouraged students to explore the fascinating world of science with confidence and curiosity.

Congratulations to all the participants for making the event a resounding success and for demonstrating that learning science can be both exciting and enjoyable.

Little Roars , Big Confidence :Prep Level 2 Animal fancy dress Competition (25th June 2026)

Prep Level 2 students brought the animal kingdom alive during the Fancy Dress Competition held on Thursday, 25th June 2026. Dressed as lions, tigers, sheep, zebras, giraffes, alligators, elephants, cows, macaws, and more, our little ones showcased creativity and confidence on stage.

In keeping with the guidelines, all costumes were handmade using home materials, reflecting wonderful parent-child collaboration. Children spoke a few lines about their chosen animal, enhancing vocabulary, public speaking skills, and awareness about the animal world.

To ensure comfort and ease, students wore their PE uniforms beneath the costumes. The event was a joyful blend of learning and imagination, leaving everyone with smiles and memorable roars, moos, and meows!

All participants were appreciated with certificates for their enthusiastic effort.

Learning outcomes: Confidence building, creative expression, classification of animals, and oral communication.

Nursery & Prep 1 – Animal Headgear Craft

Our youngest learners of Nursery and Prep 1 explored the animal world through art today. Children coloured pictures of farm and wild animals, crafted them into headgear, and wore their creations proudly. The activity sparked creativity, improved fine motor skills, and helped them identify different animals in a fun, hands-on way. The classrooms were buzzing with tiny lions, cows, zebras, and hens!

Prep 2 – Animal Worksheets

Prep 2 students reinforced their learning with engaging worksheets based on the animal theme. They enjoyed matching animals to their young ones, identifying animal body parts, and pairing animals with their shelters. The exercise strengthened observation, logical thinking, and vocabulary while connecting concepts taught in class.

Learning outcomes: Animal recognition, fine motor development, logical reasoning, vocabulary building, and concept reinforcement.

Embracing Wellness: International Yoga Day Assembly 2026

The Secondary Section observed International Yoga Day through a special assembly held on 22nd June 2026. The programme was organized to create awareness among students about the importance of yoga in promoting physical health, mental well-being, and inner peace.

The students gathered in the hall and were seated in an orderly manner, maintaining an atmosphere of discipline and attentiveness. The assembly commenced with a soulful prayer song, invoking God’s blessings and setting a serene tone for the event.

A well-curated PowerPoint presentation was showcased, providing valuable insights into the various forms of yoga and their benefits. Students learned about Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga, gaining a deeper understanding of how yoga contributes to the holistic development of the mind, body, and spirit.

To further highlight the significance of yoga in daily life, students presented an engaging skit that illustrated the many benefits of regular yoga practice. Through relatable scenarios, the skit demonstrated how yoga helps reduce stress, improves concentration, enhances physical fitness, and promotes a balanced lifestyle. The performance was both informative and entertaining, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

A meaningful thought for the day was shared, emphasizing that success and well-being are achieved through consistent effort and dedication. Students were reminded that just as yoga requires regular practice to yield positive results, every goal in life demands perseverance, discipline, and commitment.

The programme concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, who spoke about the relevance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world. The Principal encouraged students to make yoga a part of their daily routine and highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony between physical health, mental strength, and emotional balance. The address served as a valuable reminder that small, consistent efforts can bring about significant positive changes in life.

The assembly ended with the singing of the National Anthem. The celebration of International Yoga Day proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, inspiring students to embrace yoga as a way of life and strive towards holistic well-being.

Brown Day Celebration (18th June 2026)

Our Prep classes turned into a cozy world of browns today as we celebrated Brown Day!

The children arrived looking adorable in different shades of brown, instantly setting the theme. For Show & Tell, each child brought a picture or natural object in brown — cinnamon sticks, dried leaves, coconut shells, potatoes, and even wooden toys. With bright eyes and big smiles, they spoke 2-3 sentences about their item, building confidence and observation skills.

The highlight was the Draw & Colour activity where little artists created their favorite brown pet animals, potato, chocolate, etc. From fluffy brown bears to log of wood, their artwork was full of creativity and color.

Brown Day was a fun way for our children to explore a natural color, improve speaking skills, and enjoy hands-on art. It was a day of learning, laughter, and lots of chocolate-brown fun!

Into the Wild : A Jungle Safari Adventure -Wild Animals Chart Activity ( 16th June 2026)

Our Prep class went on a mini jungle safari today with the Wild Animals Chart activity!

Each child brought pictures of their favorite wild animals from home. Together, they tore, pasted, and arranged them on a large chart paper to create a vibrant collage of the jungle. Lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras — the chart came alive with all the wonders of the wild.

Through this hands-on activity, our little learners practiced fine motor skills, teamwork, and talked about where these animals live and why we must protect their habitats.

It was a fun mix of art, learning, and creativity that brought the jungle right into our classroom!

Strengthening Partnerships for Student Success: ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING {2026-27} (13th June 2026)

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) commenced with a prayer seeking God’s blessings on the gathering. This was followed by a warm welcome and a vote of thanks to all those who had contributed to the activities of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

A special felicitation ceremony was held to honor the outgoing PTA members of the academic year 2025–26 for their dedicated service and valuable contributions. The newly elected PTA members for the academic year 2026–27 were then introduced and felicitated, and were wished success in their new responsibilities.

The highlight of the meeting was an enlightening session by Rev. Fr. John Berchman. He commenced his session by screening a thought-provoking video that highlighted various parenting styles and their impact on children. He then elaborated on different approaches to parenting, including Authoritarian Parenting, Permissive Parenting, Helicopter Parenting, and Free-Range Parenting, explaining the characteristics and consequences of each style. The session provided valuable insights and encouraged parents to reflect on their own parenting practices.

Representatives from Orange Academy addressed the gathering and informed parents about the French and German language classes being offered in the school on Saturdays. They highlighted the benefits of learning foreign languages and encouraged parents to avail of the opportunity for their children.

The meeting concluded with an inspiring address by Sister Sherom, the Principal. She thanked the parents for their active participation and continued support towards the school’s initiatives. She emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between parents and teachers in fostering the holistic growth and development of every child. Her encouraging words motivated the gathering and brought the meeting to a meaningful close.

On 15th June, Convent of Jesus and Mary International School celebrated World Environment Day with a meaningful Tree Plantation Drive, reaffirming its commitment to fostering environmental responsibility among students. The initiative brought together students and teachers in a shared mission to protect and preserve nature.

As a symbol of their dedication to a greener future, each class planted a sapling within the school premises. The activity was carried out with great enthusiasm and teamwork, transforming the campus into a vibrant space of growth, hope, and sustainability.

The plantation drive served as an enriching learning experience, creating awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Through this hands-on activity, students gained a deeper understanding of the vital role trees play in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality, and combating climate change.
