A one day Teacher’s training programme on ‘Fruitful living ‘was conducted for both the Teaching & Support staff of the SSC & ICSE Section on Tuesday 04th November, 2025 by the Excel consultants.

Teachers were enriched about the personal and professional values to uphold in life. A self introspection worksheet for the teachers added to the enrichment of the session.

Group discussion, quiz time , activities & personal experience sharing made the session more productive.

The session was fruitful for the teachers to gain a better understanding about their personal and professional goals and life.

The CJM KHARGHAR staff was taken for a Picnic to shivganga water park, Panvel on Saturday 01st November, 2025.

The staff had a good time enjoying, relaxing and having fun time together.

Staff spent time dancing and refreshing themselves.

The day of the staff was filled with splashes, laughter and happy memories.

Self-Reflection and Positive Classroom Practices (23rd June, 2025) – Session For Teachers of the Prep and Primary Section

On 23rd June, 2025, an enlightening and heartfelt session was conducted by Ms. Aparna, a counsellor with deep experience and empathy. The session focused on self-awareness, teacher-student relationships, and the importance of maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Ms. Aparna began by sharing a deeply personal and painful experience from her own life—a journey that shaped her into the empathetic counsellor she is today. Her honest sharing helped set a tone of trust, introspection, and connection with the audience.

Throughout the session, she emphasized the power of self-reflection and encouraged teachers to ask themselves whether they chose the teaching profession by choice or by chance. She reminded everyone that introspection is key to personal and professional growth.

Talk to the situation, not the student – avoid personal attacks or harsh judgments.

Control your words – choose them mindfully to create a positive impact.

“Improving One’s Personality through Different Aspects of Life”

The Staff Orientation held on 21st June, 2025, was an enriching and dynamic session focused on personality development, emphasizing a holistic approach to growth by considering the various aspects of life—personal, social, emotional, and professional.

The session was led by Mrs. Rowena Buthelo who effectively combined theory and practice to create an environment conducive to meaningful reflection and enjoyable participation. Through a series of thought-provoking activities, participants were encouraged to engage in self-reflection, evaluate their habits, and explore ways to improve their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.

To set a lively tone, the session began with fun warm-up activities such as the Penguin Dance, Follow the Leader, and other interactive energizers. These ice-breakers helped to foster a sense of camaraderie among the staff and set the stage for open engagement.

Throughout the orientation, staff members explored how different areas of life influence personality—how our values, mindset, communication style, and emotional awareness shape who we are and how we grow. Activities and discussions were designed to help each participant reflect deeply on their personal journeys, recognize strengths, and identify areas for improvement.

Understanding Through Empathy: A Session by the School Counsellor – 20th June, 2025 (Secondary)

On 20th June, the Secondary staff of Convent of Jesus and Mary International School attended a meaningful and thought-provoking session conducted by the school counsellor, Ms. Aparna. The focus of the session was on the evolving needs of students in today’s changing family dynamics. Ms. Aparna emphasized the importance of understanding students from their point of view, especially as traditional family structures continue to shift. She pointed out that in many cases, children are emotionally neglected at home, which can often manifest as subtle behavioural changes in school — changes that educators must learn to recognize and address with care and sensitivity.

Ms. Aparna highlighted the crucial role teachers play in a child’s emotional development and urged the staff to remain observant and compassionate. She reminded everyone that beyond academics, the well-being of students must be a core focus. Teachers, as daily role models and guides, need to be attuned to the emotional and psychological cues that students may exhibit. A key message from her talk was the need for open discussion, whether it stems from frustration or a desire to find solutions — what matters most is creating space for communication that is rooted in empathy and understanding.

TRAINING SESSION – 27th & 28th February,2025

In the current educational landscape, technology plays a vital role in enhancing both teaching and learning experiences. Among the technological advancements, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out as a valuable resource that can significantly improve classroom dynamics and support personalized learning. To successfully integrate AI into their teaching practices, educators must equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills to utilize these innovative tools effectively.

Recognizing this need, Excel Consultants organized a constructive training session for educators on Friday, February 28, 2025. During this engaging session, teachers were introduced to the practical applications of ChatGPT, including how to create worksheets, summarize chapters—particularly for theory subjects—and gather information to enrich their instructional methodologies.

Additionally, the trainer provided a balanced overview of the benefits and challenges associated with AI usage, encouraging teachers to explore and apply these insights to enhance their teaching strategies. This training session aimed not only to broaden teachers’ understanding of AI but also to empower them to make the most of these transformative tools in their classrooms.

A session for the teachers of both the SSC & ICSE sections along with the office staff was conducted on 14th July 2023. The resource person for the day Fr. Ivon Almeida briefed teachers on the topic ‘ Healthy minds creating a healthy body’
Father enlightened the teachers on the importance of meditation. Various methods to meditate and pray were explained .
The concept of ‘mind and the difference between mindful and mindfulness was well elicited. The power of thoughts and impact of positivity was well reflected and explained.
Thus, the staff present was taken away with the words of wisdom of Fr. Ivon and his vast experience and enthusiasm in bringing positive change in the lives of others. The seminar ended with a note of thanks by Ms.Filomena and also presentation of a Thank you card to Fr. Ivon Almeida.

Session for Staff – 12th February,2026

An informative session with the thought to create a safe space was conducted for the teaching & non teaching staff on Thursday 12th February, 2026.

The speaker of the session was Sr. Vidya Pathare , a Religious of Jesus and Mary, a committed social worker, who has dedicated herself to addressing some of society’s most challenging and sensitive issues—particularly anti-human trafficking, women’s empowerment, and the counselling and rehabilitation of prisoners. Currently serving in Sangamner, she continues her outreach among vulnerable and marginalized communities through counselling, awareness-building, and empowerment initiatives.

The staff was made aware about the initiation of POSH & POSCO ACT. The speaker highlighted the meaning, objective & the necessity to use these Acts.

**Key Points:*

POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Prevents sexual harassment at workplaces and educational institutions.

and PoCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, Protects children from sexual abuse and exploitation.

The speaker asserted the fact that everyone has the right to a safe environment. The session briefed the staff about the importance of these Acts as it

– Creates safe environments for everyone,empowers individuals to speak up and ensures accountability and justice.

The speaker shared her thoughts on the Key Actions* necessary such as :

– Respecting boundaries, reporting incidents (if comfortable) and supporting survivors.The session ended on a note of gratitude by a teacher representative ,Ms. Nidhi Akash.

Cultural Activity for Teachers – 6th October, 2025

The entire staff of Convent of Jesus and Mary International School, Kharghar showcased their creativity and teamwork on 6th October, 2025, during a vibrant Cultural Activity held in the school’s Activity Hall. Each teacher enthusiastically took part in bedsheet printing, exploring unique designs, colours, and patterns to express their artistic flair. The event reflected the spirit of unity, joy, and collaboration among the staff. Guided by their creative instincts, the teachers transformed plain bedsheets into beautiful works of art. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment as everyone enjoyed this hands-on experience together.

The activity not only brought out the hidden artistic talents of the staff but also strengthened their bond as a team, making it a truly memorable and colourful day.

A Path to Reconciliation – 25th June, 2025

On 25th June, a deeply enriching Reconciliation Session for teachers was conducted by Fr. John Berkman, offering a time of reflection, healing, and personal growth. The session began with a thoughtful exploration of how our personalities are shaped right from the time of our conception, emphasizing that each person carries a unique combination of traits, emotions, and instincts that form the foundation of how we relate to the world. Fr. Berkman skillfully guided the teachers in understanding that while our core temperament may be inherited, much of our personality is also influenced by the environment in which we grow — our families, schools, social circles, and life experiences.

Fr. Berkman then focused on how these shaped personalities directly impact how we handle conflict, both in our professional and personal lives. He explained that some individuals may avoid conflict, while others face it directly, depending on their personality type. The session encouraged teachers to reflect on their own default responses to tension and disagreement. Using relatable examples and spiritual insight, Fr. Berkman shared practical tools for conflict resolution that respect individual differences, helping participants grow in empathy, patience, and forgiveness. The session was not only informative but also a spiritually refreshing opportunity for educators to reconcile with themselves, with others, and with God.

Staff orientation (23rd August, 2024)

The staff of both the ICSE and SSC Sections gathered for a Staff Orientation Programme on Friday, 23rd August 2024. The session, which ran from 8:00 am to 2:15 pm, began with a warm welcome from the Principal, Sr. Sheron Periera. Ms. Racquel Fernandes then introduced the speaker for the day, Fr. Cletus D’souza – SDB.

During the Orientation programme, Fr. Cletus eloquently emphasized the significance of having faith and trust in God, regardless of one’s religious background. He shared a powerful quote, “No God, No Peace; Know God Know Peace,” and also addressed the importance of time management and creating an engaging classroom environment. Throughout the session, Father shared insightful experiences, touching the hearts of the members. He also guided how to handle students in challenging situations, emphasizing the need to build strong relationships with students and be a source of support and guidance.

The staff members actively participated in the various tasks(cut outs of hearts mentioning each member’s name along with a quality of that teacher) assigned to them, displaying great interest and enthusiasm. Overall, the Orientation proved to be a valuable and rejuvenating experience for all, equipping the staff for a fulfilling present and a brighter future. The event concluded with a heartfelt thank you note from Ms. Sandra Dsouza.

Teacher’s Orientation – 16th to 18th February, 2023

If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.

Convent of Jesus and Mary International School Kharghar had organised a three day training from 16th February to 18th February 2023, for the teachers by the Excel consultants.

Day 1

No training is successful without the blessings of the almighty. A prayer to the holy Trinity was said by Sir Christanand.

We then kick started with the training which involved the annual curriculum planned for the entire year 2023-2024.

This year the annual curriculum plan will be done weekly as explained by Sir Jeremy to all the teachers to keep a track of how many lessons can be covered within a month.

Later we were divided into groups according to the subjects we teach. Each teacher was assigned a subject and was guided on how to plan the curriculum.

For the pre primary and Primary teachers the session began with an ice breaker where each one had to talk about something positive about the person sitting besides them. It was indeed a good time listening to such positive thoughts about each other. The training then continued with planning of the lessons according to the number of working days.

Day 2

The teachers together with their Co teachers gathered and prepared the key concepts and the learning outcomes along with what resources could be used for a particular lesson according to the given subjects.

Day 3

The training began with a variety of outdoor games arranged by the team at the basket ball court. Teachers were indeed happy playing games after such a long time. We were totally refreshed and energetic throughout the day. We then proceeded with the work assigned to us.

We thank the entire team of the excel consultant for guiding us and preparing us for the upcoming Academic Year 2023- 2024.
