World Environment Day Assembly: Inspiration for a Greener Tomorrow – 10th June 2026

To mark World Environment Day, the students of Grade 5A conducted a meaningful and inspiring assembly in the school hall, highlighting the importance of caring for our planet and promoting environmental responsibility.

The assembly began with a special prayer for the environment, seeking wisdom and strength to protect and preserve the precious resources of the Earth. This was followed by a thought-provoking skit, through which the students conveyed powerful messages about environmental conservation and the urgent need to adopt sustainable practices in our daily lives.

Adding melody to the message, the students presented a song on the environment, beautifully expressing their love and concern for nature and encouraging everyone to work together for a cleaner and greener world. The assembly also featured an informative video presentation on environmental issues, creating awareness about the challenges faced by our planet and inspiring the audience to take positive action.

Through their enthusiastic participation and heartfelt performances, the students of Grade 5A reminded everyone that even small efforts can make a significant difference in protecting our environment. The assembly served as a valuable opportunity to nurture a sense of responsibility and commitment towards building a sustainable future for generations to come

Dab and Discover :Water Dabbing activity (9th June 2026)

The Prep Section conducted a Water Dabbing Activity on Tuesday, 9th June 2026. It was our ‘First Splash’ into the Theme of Water.

Our Pre-primary learners began with a fun and sensory activity — the perfect introduction to our new theme: Water.

To begin, each child was given a sheet of paper lightly dampened with water. Using soft sponges, they dabbed vibrant paints onto the wet surface and watched with wonder as the colors spread, swirled, and blended in beautiful, unexpected ways.

We explored:

Property of water: How it spreads and helps colors flow

Creativity: No two artworks looked the same — every dab created a unique pattern

Sensory play: The cool, wet paper and squishy sponges made it a hands-on delight

The classroom was filled with giggles as children discovered how water makes paint dance. This playful experiment not only sparked curiosity about water but also helped develop fine motor skills, colour recognition, and early scientific thinking.

We will continue to explore more properties of water through stories, experiments, and art in the coming week.

Water Play Activity (PrePrimary Section ) -30th April 2026

Splash, pour, squeeze, repeat! Our Prep learners dove into a fun-filled Water Play Activity on Thursday, 30th April.

The little ones explored water through hands-on experiences with sponges, squeezy toys, small buckets, and bottles with funnels. They loved soaking sponges and squeezing out water, filling and emptying buckets, and watching water swirl through funnels into bottles. They also danced and played under a spray of water through a pipe.

Beyond the giggles and splashes, the activity helped children build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early concepts of volume, cause-and-effect, and sensory exploration. It was also a wonderful way to beat the summer heat while learning through play.

The joy on their faces said it all — learning is best when it’s this much fun!

Growing Together : My Family Tree Activity ,PrePrimary Section ( Dated – 28th April 2026)

Today Prep children explored the theme of family through a beautiful Family Tree activity. Each child pasted photos of their loved ones on a tree cut-out to represent their family.It was heartwarming to see every family tree look so unique — some had big, extended families with grandparents, uncles, and aunts all together, while others showed small, cozy families with parents and siblings. Through this hands-on activity, children learned about relationships, belonging, and the love that binds a family. They were excited to share stories about their family members and proudly display their trees in class.Every tree was special, just like every family!

Yellow Day Celebration :A Bright Blend of Fun , Learning and Lemonade (24th April 2026)

On Friday, 24th April 2026 Preprimary classrooms were glowing with sunshine as children and teachers celebrated Yellow Day. Dressed in bright shades of yellow, everyone brought warmth and cheer to school.

To connect colour with real-life learning, our little ones turned into tiny chefs alongwith their teachers, made fresh lemonade in class. They squeezed lemons, stirred in sugar, and watched the magic of mixing with wide-eyed wonder. The best part? Sipping the refreshing drink they made themselves!

The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of photos to capture the golden moments. Activities like these help children identify colours, build vocabulary, and develop fine motor skills — all while having fun.

Yellow Day was truly a happy, hands-on celebration of learning!

Discovering the Five Senses : Fun, Exploration,and Learning – PrePrimary Activity (21st April 2026)

On Tuesday, 21st April 2026, the Prep had an Experiment & Explore Activity to learn about the Five Senses: A Hands-On Discovery for Prep students. The classroom was transformed into an interactive sensory experience corner, thoughtfully set up by our teachers to spark curiosity and discovery. Children took turns to explore the corner designed for each sense organ. They felt a variety of textures, they listened closely to the gentle sounds, Colors, and walking around fascinated their eyes, while sealed containers of vanilla and cinnamon etc introduced them to different scents. With all safety and allergy checks in place, they also explored basic tastes like sweet and salty. More than just naming eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin, our little learners experienced how we use them every day. The room was filled with excited voices, wide-eyed wonder, and words like “soft,” “rough,” “nice” and “smells like ice-cream!”Activities like these help build strong foundations in science and language while keeping the joy of learning at the center. Our Prep children didn’t just learn about their senses today — they celebrated them.

Building Strong School–Parent Partnerships Parent Orientation Programme – Grades 1 to 10 (18th April 2026)

The Parent Orientation Programme for Grades 1 to 10 was successfully conducted on 18th April 2026, beginning with a peaceful prayer for a positive and productive academic year.

Parents were introduced to the school’s rules, regulations, and expectations, including dress code, school timings, and guidelines for healthy tiffins. The school also provided an overview of the assessment system, covering periodic tests, assignments, and evaluation methods to help parents track their child’s progress.

General norms related to attendance, punctuality, communication, and student conduct were discussed to ensure clarity and consistency. The session aimed to strengthen the partnership between parents and the school, working together for the holistic development of every child.

A New Chapter of Student Leadership :The Investiture Ceremony (2026-27)- 17th April 2026

The Investiture Ceremony for the Senior and Junior Council at Convent of Jesus and Mary International School, Kharghar, held on 17th April 2026, was a dignified occasion marking the induction of the newly elected Student Council for the academic year 2026–27. The ceremony aimed to instill leadership, responsibility, and a spirit of service among students.

The programme began with a serene prayer service, followed by a heartfelt felicitation of the outgoing cabinet members for their dedication and contributions. The highlight of the event was the appointment of the new office bearers, with house captains and key leaders stepping forward to take on their roles with commitment.

The Principal, Sister Sheron Parera, formally conferred the badges and led the oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to serve with integrity and discipline. In her address, she encouraged the leaders to embody humility, teamwork, and accountability.

The ceremony concluded on a proud and optimistic note, celebrating the beginning of a promising academic year, made memorable through the collective efforts of students and staff.

Developing Awareness of Body Parts through interactive learning – Pre Primary My Body Parts activity (16th April 2026)

On Thursday, 16th April 2026, our little learners of Preprimary had an engaging and joyful session with the “Body Parts Chart” activity. Each child brought pictures of different body parts and enthusiastically identified them by name. With sparkling curiosity, they spoke about the use of each body part – how eyes help us see the beautiful world, ears help us hear sweet sounds, hands help us hold and create, and legs help us run and play.

The children then lovingly pasted these pictures on a big chart, creating a colorful collage of learning. This hands-on activity not only strengthened their recognition of body parts but also enhanced their vocabulary, speaking skills, and understanding of their own bodies. The chart now stands as a cheerful reminder of how wonderfully we are made, and how each part has a special role to play!
