THE MISSION – A ZERO WASTE SCHOOL.

As the mission of Convent of Jesus and Mary International School to become a zero waste school with the initiativeness of the Eco club of the School, a special awareness talk was conducted both for Primary & secondary section students on 14th October 2022 in the school hall.
A kharghar resident Jyoti Nadkarni, a lady who had been instrumental in supporting the housing societies for proper segregation and disposal of dry waste paired with the representatives of Sampurn(e)arth (an organisation that works towards recycling and dry waste management) Mr. Govind and Mr. Devendra provided awareness to students for proper disposal of waste.
The Eco Club of the School along with Cultural student council with the Teacher in charge : Ms. Celine Francis  have initiated the segregation of dry waste into 4 categories
BOX 1 : Paper
BOX 2: Cardboard
BOX 3: Plastic
BOX 4: Hard Plastic
The boxes have  been placed in each floor and students are instructed to put the waste in respective boxes. Only wet waste will be collected in the classroom dustbins.
The contents will be collected on a weekly basis by Sampurn(e)arth (an organisation that works towards recycling and dry waste management)
Students are reminded to get their unused plastic items to be put in these bins accordingly.
This intiativness would definitely  make our planet Earth a beautiful place as it is very much important for students to realize that there’s OnlyOneEarth.
