Faith Formation – (Grade 3 to Grade 5) – 21st June, 2024 & (Grade 6 to 10) – 22nd June, 2024
On Friday, a special faith formation session was conducted for Catholic students from grades 3 to 10 in the school hall. The focus of the session was on the Beatitudes, a core teaching of Christian faith.
The session commenced with a gospel reading delivered by Father Leon Mascarenhas, setting a spiritual tone for the event. Following the reading, the students participated in an engaging action song, which helped to energize and involve them in the learning process.
Father Leon then introduced the topic of the Beatitudes, providing an overview of the eight Beatitudes. This introduction aimed to help the children understand the importance and meaning of these teachings in their lives.
To reinforce their understanding, the students were given a worksheet that encouraged them to reflect on several questions related to the Beatitudes. This activity allowed the children to personally connect with the teachings and consider how they apply to their own experiences.
As part of the session, Father Leon narrated the story of the hare and the tortoise, a timeless tale that emphasized virtues such as perseverance and humility, which are closely aligned with the principles of the Beatitudes
The session concluded with the children writing a small prayer on the paper provided, allowing them to express their thoughts and feelings inspired by the day’s lessons.
