The 75th Independence Day of our country was celebrated virtually by Convent of Jesus and Mary International School on 14th August, 2021. The theme was ‘Appreciating Diversity: Living in a multicultural country- INDIA’. The program began with a prayer service for the well being of our great nation. The birth of Mother Mary is also celebrated on 15th August, hence prayers were offered to our beloved mother for our country.
The principal, Sr. Sheron Pereira gave a wonderful message to the students extolling them to become the proponents of peace and harmony. She also encouraged the children to develop open mindedness and embrace the diversity that is India.
Cultural programs based on the theme entertained one and all present and gave the message that the beauty of India lies in its unique heterogeneity. The program ended with craft activity for the students.
Flag hoisting was held on 15th August as all the teaching and non-teaching staff commemorated Independence Day. The chief guests for the ceremony were the toppers of the SSC and HSC examinations, Mst. Harshad Gosavi and Ms. Khadija Menon respectively.
