The Primary Section celebrated Independence Day on 14 August, along with Cultural Day, with great enthusiasm under the inspiring theme “Building a Better India Begins with Me.” The celebration was a beautiful blend of patriotism, culture and values. The students came dressed in colourful and vibrant traditional attire, adding charm to the occasion.
The programme began with a warm welcome to our Principal, Sr. Sheron Pereira, all the Sisters of the Community, the teachers, and the students followed by a prayer service seeking God’s blessings for our nation.
The students of Grade 1 presented a graceful prayer dance, followed by a meaningful skit on the theme “Building a Better India Begins with Me.” The skit highlighted simple responsibilities such as not throwing waste, keeping our surroundings clean, saving water and caring for our environment. It conveyed the message that every child can contribute towards building a better nation through small but responsible actions.
The students of Grade 2 then presented the melodious group song “We Have a Vision for Tomorrow,” expressing hope for a brighter future. This was followed by vibrant patriotic dances performed by the students of Grades 3, 4 and 5, filling the atmosphere with joy and national pride.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by our principal Sr. Sheron Pereira, who appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and addressed the children on the importance of the theme. She encouraged them to practise responsibility in their everyday lives by keeping their surroundings clean, saving water, avoiding wastage and making positive choices for the betterment of our country.
The celebration came to a solemn close with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone with the inspiring reminder that building a better India truly begins with me and you.
