The Sports Committee of Convent of Jesus and Mary International School, Kharghar organised an energetic and engaging Zumba Dance Session for the students of Grades 4 and 5 on Tuesday, 11th August 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The session was organised as part of the school’s initiative to promote physical fitness, active living and overall well-being among students.
The session was conducted by our guest Zumba trainer, Ms. Nikitha Singh, accompanied by her assistant Ms. Priya Banerjee. The trainers brought great enthusiasm and energy to the session and engaged the students through a combination of lively music, dance movements, warm-up exercises and simple fitness routines. The students participated with great excitement and enthusiasm, making the session vibrant and enjoyable.
The programme commenced with a Prayer Service presented by the students of Grade 5, creating a positive and meaningful beginning to the event. Sr. Shital welcomed the gathering and introduced the Zumba trainers, highlighting the importance of incorporating physical activity into students’ daily lives.
The trainers were then felicitated by Ms. Greeshma, Secretary of the Sports Committee, as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution towards promoting fitness and healthy living among the students.
The Zumba session that followed was filled with energy, enthusiasm and excitement. Ms. Nikitha Singh, along with Ms. Priya Banerjee, guided the students through various dance-based fitness movements. The session provided students with an enjoyable way to exercise while also encouraging coordination, stamina, flexibility, rhythm and active participation. The lively atmosphere motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly and experience the joy of fitness through dance.
The Sports Committee teachers in charge were present throughout the session to support and coordinate the programme. Sir Santosh and Sir Sunil ensured overall discipline and smooth movement of the students during the activity, helping maintain an organised and safe environment.

The session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Hannah Mary, a Grade 5 student, who expressed gratitude to the Zumba trainers, the Sports Committee, teachers and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The Zumba Dance Session was a joyful, energetic and enriching experience for the students of Grades 4 and 5. It successfully reinforced the message that fitness can be both healthy and fun. The initiative encouraged students to stay active, develop healthy habits and understand the importance of physical activity in maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
The Sports Committee looks forward to organising more such fitness-oriented activities and wellness initiatives that inspire students to embrace an active and healthy way of life.
