On the joyous occasion as the entire nation commemorated the day when India became a republic, the Republic Day celebrations began in Convent of Jesus and Mary International school with the hoisting of the National flag as everyone paid homage to our tricolour flag.
An online program was also conducted for the students as we celebrated our 73rd Republic Day. The theme for the day was, ‘Unity in Diversity’.
The program began with a wonderful prayer service invoking God’s blessings on our beloved nation and its people. When we call to mind the Republic day celebrations, we cannot forget about the mesmerizing parade that takes place in New Delhi every year as a tribute to the services of our armed forces. A video of the parade was shown to the students which definitely filled our hearts with pride for our country. The essence of ‘Unity in Diversity’ was impressed upon the minds of the children through a motivational video. Students from various classes showed their love and devotion to our country through song and dance. They reminded one and all about the valuable sacrifices made by our countrymen through their meaningful speeches given. A creative activity at the end helped children display their amazing talents.
