SECONDARY – GRADE 10 ORIENTATION.

Grade 10 Khandala Trip – Self Discovery Program – 4th July, 2025

On 4th and 5th July 2025, the Grade 10 students embarked on a two-day trip to CJM House, Khandala, for an enriching Self Discovery program titled “Peep In – Self Discovery”. The retreat focused on helping students understand themselves better while equipping them with essential life skills. The sessions were facilitated by Fr. Avil and Fr. Kiran Salvi, whose engaging talks and interactive activities made the learning both impactful and enjoyable. Students were accompanied by the principal Sr. Sheron along with teachers Ms. Durga, Ms. Sarita, Sir Sunil, and Sir Yuvraj, who ensured the trip ran smoothly and safely.

Throughout the program, students explored a wide range of topics such as mental health and happiness, financial literacy, life skills for independence, substance abuse and peer pressure, cybercrime, cyberbullying, and acceptance of failure in various aspects of life. The sessions included icebreakers, team-building games, reflective discussions, and hands-on activities, creating a perfect blend of learning and fun. Highlights included the animated games, jam session, and open conversations that helped students bond and gain a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. This experience served as a valuable stepping stone in preparing the students to face life’s challenges with confidence and maturity.

 

Talk on decision making – Grade 7 to Grade 10 (19th August, 2024)

A talk for students from grade 7-10 on decision making was conducted in the school hall on Monday 19th August, 2024.

The resource person  Ms. Rowel Bothelo helped students to think & write up on the five points to remember while making decisions, someone who is most important for you, what is your main goal and what are its objectives, what are your 10 qualities, challenges you face, how to overcome them. 

Students were made to understand that physical appearance does not do anything. Only hard working people can do great things and achieve their goals in life. Students were briefed upon the need to have wisdom, priority and time management . Students were imparted with the knowledge of being focused ,concentrating in the work done and to be a good, hard working person. The session was indeed enriching. 

 

Khandala Trip/ Students Orientation (Grade 10) 19th and 20th July, 2024

A fun filled trip overnight stay for grade 10 students was organized to Convent Villa, khandala from 19th to 20th July, 2024 accompanied by Sr. Sheron, Ms. Racquel & Sir Sunil. 

The resource persons ( Members of the Excel team) conducted various sessions that were indeed helpful for the development of mind. Each session focussed on different aspects of growing up to become responsible adults. 

Students participated in many team activities which instilled values of unity, team work & togetherness. 

Students extremely enjoyed the morning prayer, Yoga session and the nature walk. 

The students left from the venue making memories for a lifetime and by extending a note of gratitude to all who made their trip an enriching and a memorable one. 

 

SECONDARY – GRADE 10 ORIENTATION – 24th March, 2023

An Orientation for class 10 students was conducted on 24th March 2023. The Speaker of the day was Fr.Cletus D’souza a Salesian priest who has held various posts as a Director, Assistant  Director as well as a professor in different institutions. He is currently working as an Assistant Parish Priest and is teaching theology while pursuing his PhD.

 Father through his sessions helped children understand to be calm in the midst of difficulties and it will disappear. Fr.also shared a 3 minute capsule ( thank, sorry, ask)  Fr . Cletus is a multilinguist and a very humble, down to earth personality.Through his extremely jovial nature made students realize the importance to ask, analyze and act.
The major take away of the session was the success formula ( 8x8x8) – 8hours sleep, 8 hours Study, 8 hours food- faith- family .
Thus a fun filled learning experience ended on a note of thankfulness. Students learnt  to be confident and enjoy and study both at the same time.
