20th June was observed as the ‘Tree Plantation Day’ at CJM, Kharghar ,to promote the need to save our Mother Earth.
Students from grade 6- 10 zealously brought the Rubber saplings classwise themselves and planted the same.
Students had hands on experience planting the saplings thus gaining a lesson about importance of trees in our environment, in our lives and their usefulness. The planted sapling by the class will be a responsibility of the class for the whole year.
This activity awakened a social consciousness and love for the nature and Mother Earth.
The spirit of the celebration was quiet informative and reflective as it indeed carried the message as rightly said by Chris Maser “What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another!”
