As the nation geared up for its glorious 76th Independence Day, the day was celebrated on 15th August 2023 in the School Hall with great zeal and pomp. The theme for the same was ‘Nation first, Always first’.
The programme started with a Parade by the Student Council followed by the hoisting of the National flag by the dignitaries.
The Chief guest for the celebration was Commando Harbans Singh Dillon.A retired Indian Naval officer.
He was the head of the Physical training and Sports department in:
1. INS Mandovi ( Goa) in the years 1983 to 1986.
2. IN S Satvahnain the year 1986- 87.
3. INS Shivaji in Lonavla which is an Engineering college for Officers and engineering training establishment for sailors in the years 1987 to 1990.
4. He also was the Comand Sports and Physical training Officer of Western Naval Comand, Bombay in the years 1999 to 2003 which is the biggest Comand of Indian Navy.
The cultural programme started with the lighting of the Samay followed by a meaningful prayer service.The cultural programmes showcased group song, mime, dances etc.ensuring that the fervour of patriotism lives on.
Students participated with great enthusiasm making it truly an enriching moment imbibed with a sense of patriotism.The Principal Sr.Sheron addressed the students on the importance of the day.
The day instilled the young minds to echo the voice of patriotism through their deeds & words . Thus, filling young minds with the awareness to respect one’s Motherland and cherish the sacrifices done for freedom.
