Cultural Day and Independence Day Celebration (Nursery to Grade 5) – 14th August, 2024

India’s Journey – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

On the 14th of August 2024, the enthusiastic students of Grade 4 hosted a splendid Independence Day program in the school hall to honour the nation’s 78th Independence Day.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Sisters of the Community, including Sr. Philomena Barla, Sr. Agatha Periera, Sr. Sheron Periera, and Sr. Louisa Adhav , whose presence added an extra touch of enhancement. The event, adorned with the theme ‘India’s Journey – Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’, unfolded with an ardent Prayer Service, followed by a captivating Cultural program encompassing soul-stirring patriotic singing and dancing. The ambience was further enriched by a speech delivered in Hindi by Ms. Anshika Purandare, and a captivating instrumental patriotic rendition by Ms. Sanaaya Tagare, encapsulating the feelings of patriotism. A video based on the country’s freedom struggle was displayed to the students to make them realise how our patriots struggled to gain independence. 

Additionally, the celebration extended to include an exuberant Cultural Day, where the vibrant essence of Indian culture was brought to life. Ms. Jyoti and Ms. Sandra admirably assumed the role of teachers in charge, ensuring the seamless execution of the event. The Principal, Sr. Sheron Periera, graced the occasion with words emphasizing the importance of the day, resonating with the students. The program aimed to ignite a fervent spirit of patriotism and reverence for the nation among the young participants. The culmination of the event was marked by Master Kabir Mullaji delivering a gracious vote of thanks, followed by a collective rendition of the National Anthem, resonating with pride and unity.
