PRE PRIMARY

The Prep students and the teachers along with the support staff of CJM International School were taken for a field trip to visit a plant nursery – Konkan Plant Nursery on Tuesday, 20th Aug 2024.

The children were taken in a bus to the nursery by all the staff of the Pre-primary section. This visit helped the children to know about the importance of plants and improve their observation skills.The children enjoyed walking around the nursery, looking at plants, learning about different types of plants. They were also informed by the gardener about how the plants grow, how to take care, how they make vermicompost which makes the soil nutritious for plants to grow.

It was a wonderful way to learn about nature and its abundant gifts.

Field Trip – Fire Station – 31st January, 2024

A fire station (also called a fire house, fire hall, firemen’s hall, or engine house) is a structure or other area for storing firefighting apparatuses such as fire engines and related vehicles, personal protective equipment, fire hoses and other specialized equipment. It also helps students to Identify and make them aware of the potential fire risks in our home and society. Make sure you know what to do in order to reduce or prevent these risks.

NATURE WALK – 18th July, 2023

The Pre-primary Section of  Convent of Jesus and Mary International School, Kharghar had gone for a ‘Nature Walk’ on Tuesday, 18th July, 2023.

This activity was undertaken to promote love for outdoors, observing nature and its beauty. The preprimary children went for a walk around the school accompanied by the teachers. They observed the greenery of the area surrounding the school with nature’s bounty of hills, trees and waterfalls due to the monsoon. They also learnt the value of appreciation and gratitude.

 

Field Trip – Plant Nursery – 31st August, 2023

On 31st August, children were taken for a field trip. The children were taken to the nearby plant Nursery.

All were excited and happy. Kids got a chance to see different varieties of plants. The teachers showed the various parts of the plant and children were able to relate and directly observe.
The children understood the importance of plants for a green and clean environment.

 

Field Trip – Gurdwara and Iscon Temple – 2nd December, 2022

To promote hands- on- learning experience and to increase knowledge of toddlers about Religion and festival, a Field Trip  was organised  for the students of the Prep section to Gurdwara and ISCON Temple on 02nd December 2022.

Students learnt the decorum and sanctity to be maintained in a religious place.
Their curious queries were cleared by the teachers. The visit was enjoyable and a fruitful learning experience.

PRIMARY

Convent of Jesus and Mary International school kharghar had organized the Field Trip for the Primary section titled “Farm on wheels” for students from Prep 1 to Grade 4 on 15th October 2022. It was indeed a fun learning trip for the students which was held in the school premises itself. The students were made aware of the names of different vegetables and were shown how to plant a sapling in their own houses. Students were excited to learn and also helped in cleaning as well as packing the vegetables. At the end of the trip, students were given money coupons and were asked to buy vegetables of their choice. This made them aware of the calculation of money. Students went home with a smile on their faces cherishing a memorable learning day filled with a lot of curious learning experiences.

 

 

SECONDARY SECTION

Industrial visit- Economics & Commercial applications students (25th October,2024)

An Industrial visit was conducted for grade 9&10 Economics & Commercial Applications students on 25th October, 2024 to Dreamland Dyes Pvt Ltd,Phase 2 ,MIDC ,Dombivili East ;a manufacturing unit for polymers. 32 students along with Ms. Neha & Sir Yuvraj paid visit to the industrial unit. Students had a practical knowledge of how a small scale unit is managed & operates meeting its goal.

The visit made possible for the students to know

1.Necessary infrastructure / raw materials which are needed to start an industry.

  1. The setup which needs to be arranged and assembled for the maufacturing process.
  2. The regulation and guidelines of the government to be followed.
  3. Need of proper planning like setup of ETP [ Effluents treatment plant], Safety exists for workers in case of emergencies,etc.

Thus the visit was indeed fruitful & insightful for students to gain new knowledge. A thank you card was presented to the owner of the unit, Itee Ghosalkar expressing gratitude for all the arrangements & explanations done.

FIELD TRIP- ECONOMIC AND COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS  (GRADE 9 & GRADE 10) – 1st July, 2023

A field trip to The Times of India- press in
Airoli was held on 1st July 2023 for the
Students of grade 9 & 10 Commercial applications & Economics.
Students for the Press visit were accompanied by Sr. Sheron, Sr.
Shital, Ms.Diviny & Ms.Donita
Students were fortunate enough to visit Asia’s largest press.
Insight was given to students about a day in the life of Newspaper.
Students were Oriented how the Press works with different departments.
Students got a real experience to see the machinery, the ink room and
various other  procedures of how the News in the  Newspaper is taken
for a day, printed and later dispatched.
The Press visit was indeed a great day of fun filled learning leaving
behind a memorable memory for the students .The hospitality shown by
the team to share knowledge to the students was remarkable.
The visit ended with a note of thanks propsed by Ms.Tanuskha Mishra a
grade 10 student . Expressing the heartfelt gratitude, a Thank you
card was given by the Principal Sr. Sheron to Mr.Rahul Pardesi, a
staff member for all the meticulous planning and efforts taken to make
the field trip possible.

 

The Field Trip for Secondary section students were held on Saturday 15th October 2022 for grades 5-9 to Nehru Science center and Planetarium.

Students along with teachers had a fun filled learning day exploring lot in the field of science. An inquisitiveness to gain knowledge drove students to understand many a facts around them.

The field trip  stimulated curiosity, developed inquiring minds and exposed students to positive new experiences.
Students got to know  the rapidly changing technological environment, which would empower them in improving their life skills.
The day was indeed a good self paced  learning day for all.
