14 November 2021, marks the Fifth World Day of the Poor which was established by Pope Francis. We are reminded that being disciples of Jesus means reaching out to those who are poor and in need. Hence CJM School, Kharghar organised an outreach programme. Students generously donated essential items which were collected throughout the week.
On 27th November, 2021, the principal, accompanied by the staff and students, visited the poor families in the vicinity. The students spent time with these families, interacting with them and understanding the hardship they faced. After this interaction the gifts were distributed to them.
It was indeed a wonderful experience for the students as they saw the joy, happiness and gratitude on the faces of these people. Through this programme the students realised that it is in giving that we receive.
