Convent Of Jesus and Mary International School, Kharghar organised a unique and innovative Independence Day Celebration for its students on 15th August, 2020. The program was conducted online. The Parents of the students were specially invited for this program.
The Program was based on the theme ‘Proud to be an Indian’. It started with everyone offering prayers for the well-being of our motherland and its people. Special prayers were also offered for the victims of Covid 19.
After the prayer, the contribution of our great leaders and freedom fighters was wonderfully showcased through powerpoint presentations made by our students and teachers. The presentations evoked the feelings of patriotism in the hearts of all those present as we remembered the sacrifices made to get freedom. Thereafter, some students enthralled the audience by singing beautiful patriotic songs, while others danced enthusiastically to songs paying homage to our motherland. The program ended with a personal message for everyone from our principal, Sr. Sheron Pereira.
After the program, a craft activity was conducted for the students. The students enjoyed themselves as they created many beautiful artworks. This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to display their varied talents. After the program the parents eagerly expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by the teachers as well as students in making this program a success.
