Independence Day Celebration Report – 15th August, 2025

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great pride and patriotic spirit at Convent of Jesus and Mary International School on 15th August. The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony by Principal Sr. Sheron Pereira, Manager Sr. Agatha Pereira, and Chief Guest Lt. Raj Kumar Rana, accompanied by the national anthem. This was followed by a prayer service, invoking blessings for the nation and its people. The school was also proud to welcome the Guests of Honour – ICSE topper Anvika Meher and SSC topper Riya Ritesh, who were celebrated for their academic excellence.

The cultural programme showcased India’s glorious history and diversity. Energetic dances paid tribute to the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and celebrated the country’s rich and inspiring past. A thought-provoking skit portrayed India’s vibrant culture and traditions, while also highlighting the importance of unity and peace in building a stronger, more inclusive nation. Students of Grade 7 put up a wonderful presentation that was both informative and captivating, adding great value to the programme. The performances were a blend of emotion, pride, and artistic expression, leaving the audience deeply moved.

The event concluded with inspiring addresses by the Chief Guest followed by the Guests of Honour, who shared their experiences, challenges, and fond memories from their school days. Their words encouraged students to aim high while staying grounded in values. A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered, expressing gratitude to all who made the event successful. The celebration came to a stirring end with the collective singing of “Vande Mataram,” filling every heart with national pride.
