A phrase that has inspired many was an idea that was introduced to preach non-violence and peace during the lifetime of Mahatma Gandhi, the pride of India and the Father of the Nation, leader of India’s freedom movement and a pioneer of the philosophy of Non-Violence. “If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.” — M.K. Gandhi
Children today are barraged with violent images through products geared towards them including violent-themed toys and media such as television, movies and computer games. They also see the real violence of war on television and in print media.
The objective of the day is to spread awareness about the idea of non-violence through education. Inspired by M.K. Gandhi our students of Grade 1 to Grade 5 celebrated International Non Violence day by preparing posters and by doing various activities which was selected by their respective class teachers.
