The Annual General Body Meeting of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) was held with great solemnity and warmth at the Convent of Jesus and Mary International School, Kharghar. The event began with the dignified lighting of the lamp by Principal Sr. Sheron Pereira, Manager Sr. Agatha Pereira, PTA Vice President Mrs. Sarika Darshale, PTA Secretary Mrs. Varuni Bernard, Secondary Section Co-ordinator Mrs. Racquel Fernandes, and Primary Section Co-ordinator Mrs. Sandra D’souza. A meaningful prayer service set a reflective tone for the meeting, followed by an expression of gratitude to the Sisters of the community for their constant support and guidance.
The programme included a heartfelt felicitation of the previous year’s PTA members in appreciation of their contributions, after which the newly appointed PTA members for the academic year were introduced to the gathering. Mrs. Sandra D’souza presented the School Report, highlighting various academic and co-curricular achievements, while Mrs. Varuni Bernard gave a comprehensive Annual Report summarising the PTA’s initiatives and progress. The audience listened attentively as Principal Sr. Sheron Pereira, President of the PTA, delivered an inspiring speech stressing the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers for the holistic development of students. Sr. Sheron Pereira also thanked the teachers Ms. Jyothi and Ms. Varuni for organizing the PTA Annual General Body meeting.
The session was further enriched by guest speaker Mrs. Rowen Bothello, who shared insightful thoughts on the importance of building strong emotional connections with children, emphasizing how such bonds are essential for their overall growth. The meeting concluded with a warm vote of thanks to all participants and contributors, followed by the National Anthem, bringing the event to a graceful close.
