Reading day was organised by the Convent of Jesus and Mary International school on October 15th, to commemorate the birthday of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He was a great scientist and scholar and always inspired children to reach for the skies.
Students from all the grades were encouraged to develop the habit to read which was now becoming less common in this age of technological advances. The teachers conducted assemblies on the life of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. His views on the importance of education helped the students realise the significance of reading books to enhance one’s capabilities.
