The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. It is not only about the environment but it is also about sympathizing with the suffering of humanity due to poverty, war and strife. This Season of Creation starts on 1st September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends on 4th October, the Feast of St. Francis.
In order to instill in our students the sense of responsibility towards the environment, all of God’s Creation and building peace, Convent of Jesus and Mary International School held extensive programs and assemblies during this period.
The theme was, ‘A home for all’. Every week assemblies were conducted and discussions held to sensitize the students about the urgent need to take responsibility inorder to foster peace and care for creation. Meaningful videos on human plight and suffering helped students empathize with the suffering marginalised. This Season of Creation culminated on 4th October with the Students celebrating Gandhi Jayanti. Gandhiji’s famous quotation. “The earth has enough resources for our need, but not for our greed.” truly puts things in perspective for us.
