Secondary school education is one of the most important phases of every student’s life. It has been one of the best ways to help empower students and provide a strong foundation to these youngsters. One of the most fundamental aims is to enable students to realize the disciplines in which they have greater abilities so that they can pursue career lines related to them. Educators also provide opportunities for students to participate in academic activities, cultural programmes and to assume leadership through service with responsibility, which helps the students to become all rounded individuals. This ensures that students receive education of the Heart and Mind.
THE AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE SECONDARY SECTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- To help students acquire necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes for the development of the self and the nation.
- To promote love for and loyalty to the nation.
- To promote harmonious coexistence.
- To help students develop mentally, socially, morally, physically and spiritually.
- To enhance understanding and respect for their own and other people’s cultures.
- To promote positive environmental and health practices.
- To build a firm foundation for further education and training.
- To enable students to develop the ability for enquiry, critical thinking and rational judgment.
- To assist students to develop into a responsible and socially well-adjusted person.
- To promote acceptance and respect for all persons.
- To enhance enjoyment in learning.
- To identify individual talents and develop them.
- To help students develop into self-disciplined individuals who appreciate work and manage time properly.
- To inculcate the use of technology in day-to-day activities.
- To help students articulate thoughts and ideas effectively using oral, written and nonverbal communication skills in a variety of forms and contexts.
