Van Mahotsav – A Celebration of Forests and Life (Primary)

Van Mahotsav, also known as the Forest Festival, is an annual celebration in India that highlights the significance of trees and forests. Observed from July 1st to July 7th, Van Mahotsav week aims to raise awareness about forest conservation and environmental preservation.

Convent of Jesus and Mary International School recently organized a week-long Van Mahotsav celebration to instill in its students a sense of responsibility towards preserving our natural surroundings. A special assembly was conducted on July 11th, 2024 by Grade 6 students to mark Van Mahotsav. The assembly featured a captivating musical skit portraying the importance of trees and forests. Additionally, videos and presentations were presented to underscore the importance of environmental stewardship. Students were also encouraged to plant saplings in their homes and local areas, and to nurture them by watering them regularly.
